Last night was fun. another one of those passionate activist packed events A loves;Im glad i went with him. Ive always managed to meet these personalities, these authors who are making waves in the muslim world when i go to his events. i think we take these people for being supernatural though - for being these charismatic, larger than life characters that can say no wrong. when really they are like us - every day people with families, lives, etc. the one theme i encounter everywhere is people's shock at our decision to return to pakistan. they all seem to think we wil want to return to north america ...that we will be unable to deal with the corrupt systems etc etc. maybe theyre right. which is what i fear, but what the hell...i mean is it better to live everyday hoping to return or to return to find out you were better off in the first place?
